How Do You Dust Your Sandals?
September 11, 2011
A long time ago, I had a divine appointment with a man, who went to a church that did not believe that Christ rose from the dead. He did not know it at first and the sermons were great enough; however, as time passed and Easter approached, it became clear to him that they did not believe in the Risen Christ. He asked the pastor whether they believed that Jesus rose from the dead. The pastor never answered in the affirmative essentially ignoring the question. When it was time to dust his sandals, he left quietly.
This conversation left me wondering..... Has anyone here ever dust his or her sandals from a church and for what reasons? Are the reasons justified? How was the process like? Have you thought about dusting your sandals and for what reasons did these thoughts come to your mind?

Leaving His traces behind..
@seed_of_hope_80 - Profound! You seem prophetic, do you consider yourself prophetic?
@Christenstein - I guess we all are here to remind one another of what we've been shown. He has shown each of us something. It is our effort to make up for each other's lacks and weaknesses. As we respect each other's concerns, and open up to one another. We are creating and are open to new perceptions and perspective of His life. Unity is the key to His Love, the door to His Mercy and the way to His Truth. Trust brings up a whole new world. As we believe in one another, we done so unto Him, as He have mentioned, those who do this to the least of my brethren, have done so unto Me. He will not forsake anyone.

Yeah, I learned a little more about Christ through another person in the faith. It is amazing to me, especially after I was illuminated to the truths of God by the Holy Spirit, it seemed many around me did not understand (considering the crowd). Now, it is such a blessing to be surrounded by those who do know and yet, are quiet in sharing such truths.
@Christenstein - Sometimes we let life run its course Christentein, and it is better to let nature knows what's best. As Christ allow us to know..His way is not always our's way..It is better to believe in His word when He said, 'Let the scriptures be fulfill'.
I have had to leave more then once, a congregation- moving, church split. But only Once did I ever feel I had to "dust my sandals off." This church was a very legalistic. It had a sincerely warped view of G-d's love and grace was found only at the altar and with the Lord- while the gossip raged behind you. This church has had many pastors actually leave for the same reason.
Leaving was hard- we had many friends there that wanted us to stay and help fight it out with them. But there comes a time when you have to think of your children and their view of church & the safety of their faith ahead of all else.
A week or so after we left, we realized just how much the negativity had impacted our lives and how happy & less weighty our lives felt. It was like walking out of a dark room to the outside fresh air & shine shine!
Was it easy- no not at 1st, was it right- Oh Yes! Did the Lord bless us with a new church home that was better- OH YES-YES YES!!!
@KateeLee1 - I appreciate your comments. It sounds fantastic that you are in a healthier environment now and that you are growing in your faith away from the constraints/deaths associated of legalism. This is very exciting and hopefully as time progresses, you will continue to grow and mature in your faith. Thank you so much for sharing and may you continue to pursue growth in G-d's love.
You are welcome. The pursuit of G-d's love is highest pursuit one can seek. And its such a blessing that He is most generous with it!
